I’m the Director of Site Reliability Engineering at Techcombank in Ha Noi, Viet Nam, leading the SRE function for the Data & Analytics Division.

Key achievements:

  • Built SRE function 0-to-1—leads a combined Reliability/SRE team (1 manager, 10 engineers) and a platform infrastructure team (1 manager, 4 engineers)
  • Ops Agent in production—delivered first-ever reliability baselines (previously unmeasured): ~30 min MTTA and ~60 min MTTR; triages, groups, and explains job failures, with an auto-resolve engine in beta testing
  • Built a Change Request agent CLI that automated production change reviews, cutting review time from 90–120 minutes to ~10 minutes; developing agentic version with end-to-end Confluence-to-GitLab automation
  • Established comprehensive observability frameworks across ~6,000 data pipelines
  • Achieved 97.8% SLA compliance
  • Led cost optimization initiatives delivering over $1 million in AWS savings
  • Championed organization-wide adoption of engineering best practices

My career has spanned 5 countries: the United States, Thailand, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Viet Nam.

  • Solutions Architect at Databricks — Developed analytics strategies with executives across Central Europe, specializing in data engineering and telecom
  • MLOps Manager at Delivery Hero (Berlin) — Built MLOps frameworks on GCP
  • MLOps Lead at True Digital Group (Bangkok) — Led platform operations and analytics initiatives for 3+ years

How I Got Here

My journey began as a Data Scientist at Caterpillar Inc., which led me to Bangkok on an exciting contract with Tata Technologies. Captivated by Thailand’s dynamic culture, I extended my stay for five rewarding years.

In 2022, the arrival of our first child inspired my wife and me to start a new chapter in Germany. After facing a layoff in early 2023, I was fortunate to land a role at Databricks, a leader in data, AI, and generative AI. My connections with exceptional leaders from my time in Thailand eventually opened the door to my current role at Techcombank.
